We are trying to improve basic education level, health awareness, societal disparity and clean &
green environment in the state of Utter Pradesh. Every contribution, however small or large
helps us in our mission or providing quality education, health, social equity and safe
environment to all irrespective of any socio economic factors.
It was Prof. Raj Kumar Singh, social activists who took initiative to lay the society and got
registered on 20th August 2015 (Registration No. 634/2015-16) under Societies Registration Act
1860.
Gouri at a tender age has realized that poverty can come in the way of anyone’s dream. Instead of going to school, Gouri makes the rounds of four to five houses each day and takes care of her father, till her mother and elder sister return. Gouri’s father has been bedridden for two years now, due to an accident. Since then, life has taken a bitter turn for Gouri . The only respite in Gouri’s life comes from her dream of becoming an airhostess when she grows up.
Manav Utthan Society as an NGO in India has so far directly put more than 20,000 children like Gouri into the path of empowerment through education through its Mission Education programme.
Like Gouri, there are 17 million children in India working as child labour. At least 62% of the total out-of-school children in India are girls. Last year, 51% of the total beneficiaries of Mission Education programme were girls.
