We live in a world where both kinds of people live, the people who spend their lives lavishly
and the people who hardly get three times meal a day. The latter cannot even afford the basic
requirements. One cannot make these kinds of people at once rich but at least ease them by
offering them our helping hands. We can assist the poor to achieve the essentials of life. We
live in a world which is full of humanitarian needs; numerous people are dying of hunger every
minute. Helping a single person to get food to eat and place to live can bring wonders to their
life.
Happiness grows when it is shared. A sense of sharing needs to be developed in every individual
for both personal and social upliftment. This has to be inculcated in every person right in the
beginning ages of growth and maturity. Kids should be taught how to help the people who are not
well off as them.
Working class should take a step ahead to help their colleagues understand the areas they are
not that good at. Old aged people should impart their experiences to the younger generation
those who are in real need of it.
Poverty reduction is a tough nut to crack when it comes to find self-reliance opportunities for
grassroots in rural areas. Our NGO is running many welfare works for the betterment of society.
Among these welfare endeavors, the “Ghar – Parivar” initiative solely focusses on proving thing
for survival, we have provided our survival kit to many people. This survival kit includes five
kg rice, five kg wheat floor (Aata), one kg salt, three kg pulses, one packet match box, two kg
detergent, five bathing soaps, one tooth powder/ paste, three cloth washing soaps, twenty
packets of Parle G, one kg namkeen, one packet masala, two liter edible oil, one packet tea, one
blanket, one cotton carpet (Dari), one bed sheet, two pair of clothes etc.
People usually say that thousands of people die of cold, but we say that they die due to lack of
woolen clothes and blankets. Poor and helpless people sleep in rags at footpath and roadside and
die of cold. These poor people sleep close to each other during cold waves but how one can sleep
sound without blanket or quilt in such conditions.
In our society, there are many under-privileged people who cannot afford even a blanket and die
– without a roof or cloth on their bare bodies. Is there any ray of hope for the rest? Yes,
there is. In the freezing winters our volunteer form groups and stood up to look for the needy
people and distribute blankets to them.
Till date, our society has distributed blankets to more than 350 poor and needy people in
Moradabad and nearby area. Today, the primary focus of our society is Moradabad and other
regions in Uttar Pradesh. Today, around 30-35 volunteers provide their time and effort to Manav
Utthan Society in the region and help the poor. Expansion has made it possible for us to reach
the remotest areas of Uttar Pradesh – from Moradabad to Amroha to Bareilly to Shambhal.
